Merry Christmas From The Pro Shop

With only a week to go until Christmas, Tom, Sam & Myself would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support this year. Still hard to believe how close we are to Christmas, temperatures in the low to mid teens and the sun is shining! 

We have enjoyed a good playing year, so far. We have managed to avoid any lengthy periods of course closures and the course has been in fantastic condition all year round. Long may it continue! Hopefully, next year will bring much of the same and more. Be interesting to see what happens in the golfing world, with Tiger Woods pretty much now out of the game, will he even make it back to play at all in 2016? Plus it is a Ryder Cup year, so we have that to look forward to.

GC2 - Do you know your stats? 

Whether you believe in all the stats associated with each and every shot you play, they are very important to understand if you want to improve your consistency and shot choice capabilities. As we have now moved in to winter, it is imperative you know how to control your golf ball to maximise distance and maintain a desirable ball flight in the changing and challenging weather conditions.

Below are images showing the information available to the GC2 launch monitor, showing how much data it records in just one shot. Key areas to spot for this time of year, are Spin rates (back & Side), Launch Angle and Carry distance. These figures will highlight areas of your ball flight that may be hindering your consistency and preventing you from hitting the ball as far as you would like or are capable of.



Therefore, knowing which areas of your ball flight to improve, will give you greater understanding of the swing fundamentals that are causing these figures, and it is our job to help you improve these. As the wind starts to pick up and the ground gets softer, carry distance because vital as the course is providing very little roll on the ball. Therefore, launch angle and spin rates will have a drastic impact on your carry distance. 

So, if you would like to add more distance to shots, or simply understand how this data is created during the golf swing, then come and book a session and have a lot of fun, seeing how the data responds to improvements in your technique.
