Happy New Year!
Tom, Sam and Myself wish everyone a Happy New Year and hopefully we will have another good golfing year! Without tempting fate, we have been very lucky so far this winter having missed the worst of the weather that has hit the north of the UK.
If you have had chance to get out and play recently, you will agree that the course is looking fantastic and playing as good, considering the amount of rainfall we have had. To be into January and playing on main greens is something we would not have believed back in the summer, when predictions of the worst and coldest winter in 50 years were made.
However, as we have been lucky with the weather and still playing on main greens, it is our duty to maintain the standards and do our bit at keeping them healthy and performing well over the next 12 months. As the greens are soft at the moment, pitch marks are being made with just about every shot into the green, whether it is from 170 yards or a 20 yard pitch shot. Therefore, even if you cannot find the pitch mark your ball has made, please make effort to replace any pitch mark that can be seen.

New Year - New Club Captains
Another New Year brings another transition from last year's captain to the new incoming club captains. Captains' drive in 2016 saw Paul Browning and Jennifer Recordon become the new Gents & Ladies club captain respectively. We, in the shop, would like to thank Tony Law and Kay Murmann for their commitment and involvement with the Pro Shop over the last 12 months. We look forward to a year with Paul and Jennifer, with the major business of captain/pro matches. Another competitive year is ahead of us and dates will be decided in the next couple of months to commence matches in the spring.
On a another note, every new year we always say to ourselves "I am going to play more golf this year!" Therefore, when you are next playing try to avoid 'The Ernie Els Putt'. It happens to the best. Tom, Sam & Myself are here to help to ensure this does not happen to you
