- Wednesday 20th August & Thursday 21st August
The cost is just £65 per child per course including lunch.
All sessions commence at 12pm running through to 2:30pm. As per previous courses we are looking to improve every golfer whether those with more experience or less in how to hit the ball, etiquette and rules. We are restricted to a maximum of 10 children per course.
If you are interested, your children, grandchildren or their friends then please let us know. It is extremely important to all of us in the shop to help the next golfing generation to see what a great game it is. Click here for more information or to register your interest.
Foremost Championships
Last Thursday, 1st May, my alarm clock went off at 4.30am and out the door at 5am. 2 hours later I'm at Hadley Wood Golf Club just inside the M25. I'd not played there before and didn't have the time to get a practice round in either.
So, blind to the course on Monday, it's raining, I've got my carry bag, no trolley and no umbrella. Great preparation Ian, Well Done. I manage to drive down the middle on the 1st with the driver (last years driving problems have departed for the time being). Fellow competitor no1 - right trees, fellow competitor no2 left trees - provisional ball - left trees! To cut a long story short it was about 15 minutes before I played another shot and it was not a good one either. Anyway some how we all had par 5's although it did feel like a dropped shot for me.
Hole no2, my second shot went too far and I didn't get up and down - bogey. Hole 3, par 3 onto the green 2 putts - par. Hole4, 325 yards dog leg left. 4 iron off the tee straight into a ditch that I hadn't even seen - a quick double bogey and 3 over par after 4 holes. Hole 5 stroke 1 I drove down the middle. The group behind were a two ball because one of their group didn't turn up. Another 20 minute wait to hit my next shot. Why am I telling you all this? Well there is a happier ending. I finished my round level par which was quite respectable, Tied 8th. Not bad although it does hurt knowing my final 10 foot for a birdie that I missed cost me £150!
My inner chimp was very prevalent in the first few holes but having watched the Steve Peters YouTube clip did help. If you have 15 minutes watch this link - very interesting.
