A Happy New Year to all!
Luffenham's New Assistant
We have teased this for a couple of weeks now, but we can now reveal Tom's replacement that will join Sam and Myself in the Pro Shop, starting Tuesday, 10 January. His Name is Nick Cunnington, whose handicap is floating around 2 & 3. Nick has experience of working with Sam before, at Greetham Valley Golf Club, so he should be able to fit straight into the team and begin his PGA career in October 2017.
Nick is 23 years old, and as you can see is either dreading the prospect of working with Sam and myself or like the rest of us, does not like playing in the rain. We assume it's the first one!
Both Sam and I would like to welcome Nick to the team and wish him every success here at The Luffenham Heath Golf Club.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for reading my weekly newsletter and giving all three of us in the shop such fantastic support throughout last year. Your kind words to all posts that have gone out have been warmly received and your loyal support through the Pro Shop is admirable, so we thank you all for that.
We are all so lucky to be a part of what is truly a fantastic golf club, in a year where the golf course has gone from strength to strength to become the best I have ever seen it on a day-to-day basis. I hope you are all in agreement with me that Nick Nottingham and his team have done a superb job this year and should be very proud of himself and his team. Open qualifying last year was nothing short of miraculous how they kept the golf course playable, let alone in top condition. With all the adverse weather that descending upon Luffenham in the week leading up to the Open Qualifying. On the day, it was a true example of teamwork and there passion for making the course as good as it can possibly be. Their dedication, commitment and hard work have all certainly paid off!
None of the above happens without two very important cogs in the wheel. The committees who want work to give back into the club. Last and not least is your manager Tim Stephens, without his tireless efforts, very little of the continual improvements would not happen. He is often either the first to arrive or nearly always the last to leave making sure your club is as good as it is. That type of dedication is hard to put a value on!
9 Hole Offer
Saving 2-3 shots per round is very easily achieved when you have the correct method. To lower your scores, you must think your way around the golf course. Understand where to hit your tee shots and where is safe to miss if you do not hit the green etc.
