Leicestershire and Rutland Pro Am Foursomes As you may or may not be aware; Luffenham Heath Golf Club enters into several inter-county competitions throughout the course of the golfing season. The finals for the Pro Am Foursomes knockout this year is being held at Stapleford Park Golf Club on Sunday 7th October. Nick and playing partner, David Smith have qualified for the final of this year’s knockout tournament and would be delighted if you would like to spectate on the day. The route to the final has included a total of 4 matches, the first of which was away at Kilworth Springs, where Nick and David were 6&5 winners. The second match was a much tighter affair, requiring an extra hole to defeat The Leicestershire. The quarter final saw home ties for both Nick and David who were once again victorious over Glen Gorse ‘A’ with a comfortable 5&3 win. Head Professional Ian Burnett and his partner, Jamie Warman had an away tie at Beedles Lake ‘A’. If both teams were to win their Quarter Final ties, there would be a Luffenham Heath clash in the Semi Final stage. Sadly Ian and Jamie were defeated at this stage. The Semi Final was to be played at a neutral venue. Nick and David travelled to Glen Gorse Golf Club to face off against the Beedles Lake ‘A’ team who defeated Ian and Jamie. A 4&2 victory for Nick and David now see them in the final of the competition, to be played against Glen Gorse ‘B’ The format of the Finals day is 36 holes of foursomes match play, the starting time is yet to be confirmed, however should you wish to know more about the final then please speak to Nick. |
