Pro's tip - Hole 2 This week we take a look at the undulating and demanding second hole. The second hole is a hole that all professional golfers are more than happy to make a par on. The ideal tee shot is something that travels 230 yards off the white tees. Aiming at the right edge of the left bunker, a well struck fade will catch a downslope and kick forward another 10-15 yards leaving you a short-mid iron into the green. Pin locations on the left hand side of the green must be respected at all costs, as a pull left of the green will make getting up-and-down almost impossible. If the pin is on the right, you can aim at the middle of the green letting the natural camber of the second fairway move your ball towards the flag, hopefully leaving a stress-free two-putt for par and onto the next! Just as with the first hole, a right miss is always better than one that misses left. Give this a go next time you’re playing Hole No.2 and come back next week for the next Pro’s tip! |
