Greetings from Ian Burnett
Luffenham Heath Golf Club - PGA Golf Professional

Tuesday Night Stableford Times Change.

Please be aware that the 1st tee times available for Tuesday Night Stablefords this year has changes to 2.30. This is to allow those who wish to roll up a greater time to tee off. Tuesday Nights start 1st April. As many of you have played in them for years, you will know all about them.

For those newer members it’s a fantastic way to meet other members, make new friends and get your handicap down.

  • There are one or two courtesies for Tuesday Nights which we in the shop need all players to adopt. TNS runs from 2.30 - 5.30 every Tuesday.
  • 2 ball play is mandatory. To avoid the jamming effect on then course we will again ask you to tee off only when the group in front is on the second tee. This was tried over the last couple of years and met with universal approval.
  • Please enter the shop, pay your entrance fee (£4) and wait to be paired up by one of the shop staff. This means that no golfer is ever left waiting for too long. It only ever takes one pre arranged game to potentially leave one person without a game and feeling unloved.

Whilst playing keep moving, if you hit a ball into difficulty look for it yourself don’t except the other player to help you. Let quicker players through. Try your hardest to play 18 in around 3 hours. Then the best bit have a beer in the clubhouse and something to eat.

Winter Series Pro Am

A close look at Luffenham’s calendar and you will see there is not one pro-am – but two to look forward too. The first one is a 1pm shotgun start on Wednesday 23rd April – St Georges Day “come on England” followed by a prize presentation after the round. Sounds like a lot of fun to me, so if you fancy entering a team please let either the shop or the office know. The team entry is £255

Summer Knockout Entries

Yes, it is that time of year again – Summer knockouts.

The winter knockouts are drawing to a close and the summer knockout entries are being taken in the shop. If you would like to enter just pop into the shop, pay the entrance fee and that’s it.

We do have a spare Gent who is looking for a partner for the George Cup, I’ll spare his name but if you would like to play please let us know.

The benefits of knowing your golf ball

Distance and feel are two big factors you need to consider before settling on your golf ball choice. Yes we want performance in both departments, but we also need to consider your own skill level before making the right selection.

Titleist SM5 wedges

The short game is so important, something that’s not lost on the legendary Bob Vokey. Titleist Vokey wedges need no introduction. The latest Spin Milled (SM5) wedges will arm you with more spin and give you a few more shots in your locker through new, deeper TX3 grooves.

Titleist AP1 irons

These two sets from Titleist are fantastic to look down on at address, with a classy finish that will just make you want to get out there and play. The 714 AP1 irons should appeal to both the mid to high handicappers out there, not just single figure golfers.
