2015's biggest blow out
How time seems to fly by. We are already 3 weeks into the year. It's noticeable that the nights are ever so slightly drawing out and a sign of spring around the corner. James Burnett is now 15 and has just taken his mock GCSE's. Lets hope for his sake they're good.
The problem with time going so quick is I never really get much of a chance to watch the golf. I did however watch the South African Open final few holes. I have to say two things.
Firstly, I'm in love with about half a dozen golf swings (sadly not my own). Charles Schwartzal, Rory, Louis Ousterhazen, Martin Kaymer - there will be others but you get the picture.
I couldn't believe what I was seeing with Charles Schwartzal blowing a 5 shot lead in 5 holes and then to lose in a playoff. Wow, that's got to hurt, especially when it's your own countries flagship event and National Title.
One of the first people to come in the shop on Monday asked if I'd seen the golf over the weekend. "No sorry been too busy" you know the story. "Kaymer blew a 10 shot lead!"
What's the world coming too? I think I could have managed that. I did a rough calculation that he was something like 10 over par in his final round in comparison to his scoring average of the first 3 days. I think this guy has one of the best swings ever in golf.
He can certainly handle the pressure. Winning Majors, holing the winning cup on the 18th green to beat Tiger Woods in the Ryder Cup? This golfer was everything, with that firepower how do you blow such a lead?
Here's my thought. I bet he has off the course problems. An argument with his Girlfriend, boyfriend, management company or equipment supplier. I think we might have to wait a few years to find out. Don't forget you heard it here first.
Lindsey Vonn
Any body see that Lindsey Vonn (Skiing) won her first competition after coming back from injury? Did anyone see her boyfrind had a tooth knocked out by a camera? Sorry Tiger! That's the price of fame, or is it infamousy
As many of you will be using the social media sites, you may have seen my/ the pro shop account on Facebook. This year, we are in charge of the junior section, which obviously involves communicating with our junior section concerning forthcoming matches, competitions etc.
As social media is very popular, we thought it would be the best way to contact our junior members that may not regularly use or check their emails.
Therefore, if you happen to be rejected as a friend, I apologise for this and please do not be offended, as it is just intended to be a private account to communicate with our junior section.
